Frequently asked questions
Do I need to print the game?
No. Read the player PDF on a computer or tablet, or print it. Keep a notebook for your answers. Printing is optional; the paid editions are PDFs, not an interactive browser game.
Which languages are included?
Each purchase includes one language edition: English, Nederlands, Deutsch or Français. Choose your language before buying. Your ZIP includes the illustrated player PDF, print edition, separate hints, separate solutions and starting instructions.
How many people can play?
The standard cases are designed for 1–4 players. Read together, share the evidence and agree on a conclusion. No game master is needed.
How long does a case take?
Allow approximately 60–90 minutes for a standard case. Reading speed, discussion and hints affect the time. There is no real countdown, and you can pause whenever you like.
Are the games suitable for children?
The opening cases are intended for adults and confident younger readers playing with an adult. As a guide, consider ages 12 and above, depending on reading confidence. Read the free sample first to judge the fit for your group.
What if we get stuck?
Open the separate hints PDF when you want help. Keep the solutions PDF closed until you are ready for the worked answers and ending.
How do I receive my purchase?
After payment confirmation, use the download links supplied with your order. Download and extract the ZIP for your chosen language, then open the starting instructions and player book. Keep the separate solutions closed to avoid spoilers.
Can I ask for help or a refund?
Contact jeroen@stormholt.org with your order number if a file is missing, damaged or not as described. Our refund policy explains the applicable terms. Your statutory consumer rights are not excluded.
Can I give a case as a gift?
You can buy a case for one recipient or household. Downloads are delivered to the purchaser; automated gift-email delivery is not included. If buying for somebody else, pass on the files for their use rather than making extra copies for separate groups.
Does a single case start a subscription?
No. Each of the nine released standard cases costs €9.90 as a one-time purchase. Membership is not yet open. The planned monthly price is €19.90 until cancellation; joining the newsletter does not subscribe you or charge you.

Where is my Etsy download if the email is missing?
Check your spam or junk folder. If you bought while signed in, open Etsy.com in a computer or mobile browser, go to Your account → Purchases and choose Download Files beside your order. Digital files cannot currently be downloaded in the Etsy app. Guest buyers receive the download link in their receipt email. If you still cannot find it, contact us through your Etsy order for help.
